Today’s post is courtesy of the magnificent, alliterative Maggie Mason of Mighty Girl. It’s yet another example of why I love Flickr as much as I do.

Behold, the Wardrobe Remix.

And I thought the Laptop Lunchbox  group was a rabbithole.

I made a decision earlier this year to stop buying fashion magazines because I thought they were bad for my self-esteem. But I’ll be honest in saying that this decision, while overall helpful, left a little hole in me. What can I say? I’m a girl who was weaned on Glamour and Cosmo in equal parts with mildly feminist young adult literature. Is it any wonder I’m this whacked about feminism and fashion?

Anywho, the point of that was that I’ve often missed poring over pictures of pretty soft cottony things. But couture? Ehh, I could do without it. And getting my fix by downright staring at people’s whacky choices in public? Most unbecoming.

And what does the wardrobe remix do for me then? It makes me very, very happy, that’s what. Now, instead of the fashion rags, I can gawk guilt-free AND see what normal people are wearing. And like me, normal people are lovably odd. And they have normal people bodies in all shapes and sizes. And apparently they too love thrift and H&M. Holla! Power to the people! All that jazz…

(Sarah, I dare you not to get hooked.)
